A day trip to the beach is planned but because of weather, may be postponed. Possibly a very good week to pull a chair up to the machine in the a\/c while letting the rain fall outside and water the tomatoes!
\nI just machine stitched the buttons on to my summer project — a rain jacket. I had one I liked but managed to “scrape” a whole in the front while having it carelessly crammed on top of my small rolling suitcase and zipping through an airport.
\nI decided it was the perfect opportunity to make one.
\nI will admit having not done a thorough search for water proof fabric, but found a suitable one at Hancocks.
\nI decided to line it with a lightweight, thin “lawn” to keep the extruded, woven plastic fibers away from my skin.
\nI was looking for a practical kaki\/tan type of something, and ended up with a turquoise with the lining in white\/turquoise and purple butterflies…..lol—not at all the plan.
\nThe jacket came out nicely (although this fabric has less body than it’s predecessor so the shape is a more “relaxed”
\nI used McCalls 6517 and thought it looked just as the photo and line drawing looked:
